What counts as a free event here?
One with no admission charge to attend. Food, rides and optional activities on site may still cost money - the free flag is about getting in, and the listing links to the organiser for anything beyond that.
Do I need to register for free events?
Sometimes. Library programs and workshops often cap numbers even when they cost nothing. The event page links to the source calendar, which is where any registration is handled.
How are free events identified?
From what the source calendar states - a stated price of zero, or wording the ingestion recognises as free admission. Where a source says nothing about price, the event is not marked free rather than assumed to be.
