About the Concert

ArtChoral: Jazz - Experience the beauty, intimacy, and power of chamber music in the stunning Art Deco heritage hall of Montreal, Le 9e Grande Salle! 

The professional singers of ArtChoral vocal quartet welcome guest soprano Dr. Sharon Azrieli on September 15 at 9e Musique@17h. Internationally celebrated for her bell-like soprano and exquisite intonation, Dr. Sharon Azrieli moves between the world’s most distinguished opera houses, concert halls, and recording studios. For her upcoming performance at Montreal's historic Art Deco concert hall, Le 9e Grande Salle, she will interpret some of the most beloved jazz songs from the Great American Songbook, accompanied by ArtChoral's professional quartet.

Dr. Azrieli's credits include performances at Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Opera, and covering Mirella Freni in Adriana Lecouvreur at the Opéra Bastille de Paris. She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras across three continents and recorded fifteen albums to date. With songs like Fly Me to the Moon and Summertime, ArtChoral blends the precision of professional a capella harmonies, bespoke arrangements, and the musical freedom of jazz.

Dr. Sharon Azrieli, guest soprano

Janelle Lucyk, soprano and artistic director of ArtChoral at Le 9e and Musique Royale, has "an angelic voice. Her expressiveness is beyond words."  

Florence Tremblay, soprano, composer, and cellist, whose music is performed in France, Greece, and across Canada.

JP Feo, tenor, joins us from Toronto, whose luminous voice is combined with irrisistable stage presence.

Alasdair Campbell, baritone, captivates audiences with his bold and rich tone.

On the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5 PM, we invite the public to enjoy a glass during the concerts, meet the artists, and book at the 9e Île-de-France restaurant for post-concert dinner.
